The Miss Hellene Pageant, hosted by the NAHYSOSA National Committee and the Hellenic Radio, is the pursuit of an ambassador to represent the Hellenic Youth of this country. It is also a fantastic opportunity to feel glamorous and give back to the community at the same time. This year’s pageant was held at Emperors Palace on the 13th of September and was hosted by the multi-talented Emmanuel Castis. The contestants from across South Africa dazzled in beautiful designer creations from as far as Brazil and strutted their stuff with poise and confidence. Christina Rodokanakis (Miss Hellene 2007) was on hand to present a cheque to the CANSA Association and was later joined on stage by Miss Cyprus 2008 who flew in from Nicosia to help crown the winner. We wish Miss Cyprus 2008 the best of luck as she prepares for the Miss Universe Pageant being held in Puerto Rico. The results for the evening were as follows: Miss Personality: Styliani Athanassiu The prizes for the evening included a brand new Chevrolet Spark; trips overseas; extravagant jewellery; the latest fashion couture; holiday packages at various resorts across the country; the latest electronic equipment and meal vouchers. Proceeds from the event will go to the NAHYSOSA Bursary Fund as well as to the Greek Old Age Home and Stegi Agapes Home for the Homeless.
